How it is counted

Social security is counted on the monthly wage, up to the highest wage the law counts: 3,733 dinars a month in 2026, raised each January by inflation.

The employee pays 7.5%: 6.5% for old age, disability and death and 1% for unemployment. The employer pays 14.25%: 11% for old age, disability and death, 2% for work injuries, 0.75% for maternity and 0.5% for unemployment — 21.75% together.

The net salary is the salary less the employee's 7.5% and less one twelfth of the year's income tax, counted as in our income tax calculator.
