What are attendance devices?
Fingerprint, card and face terminals at a door or a gate keep a punch for each person who passes. Many of them can send each punch over the internet to a server by themselves — ZKTeco calls this ADMS or Push, and eSSL ADMS.
What you gain when you connect it
- Any company, with or without School. A staff member's punch lands in their HR attendance like a check-in — never twice in the same minute, never in a month whose payroll is closed.
- A school's day marked at the gate. With Zyntra School, a student's first punch of the day marks them present, or late after the school's time; the teacher's own mark wins, and a device never marks anybody absent.
- A lecture marked in its room. With Zyntra University, a punch in a lecture's room during its hour marks that lecture, counted towards the course's absence limit.
- Nothing dropped, nothing guessed. Each person is matched to the id they carry; an id nobody carries yet waits as «not matched» and its punches are counted the moment it is given its person.
- Works with the devices that push, and with a file. ZKTeco terminals with ADMS / Push (such as the SpeedFace, ProFace, uFace, MB and iClock families) and eSSL ADMS terminals send by themselves. Other makers' devices — Hikvision, Suprema, Anviz and the rest — come in through the attendance file they export.

How to switch it on
- Open HR › Attendance devicesSomeone who may manage devices opens Timesheets & Leave › Attendance › Attendance devices.
- Register the deviceType its name, place and serial number; the server address and the device's secret are shown once, to type into the device's cloud server settings.
- Match the peopleGive each person the id they carry on the device, one by one or from a file — then each punch lands by itself.

Frequently asked questions
Which attendance devices work with Zyntra OS?
Devices that send their punches by themselves over the push protocol their makers call ADMS or Push — ZKTeco terminals with ADMS / Push, such as the SpeedFace, ProFace, uFace, MB and iClock families, and eSSL ADMS terminals. A device of another maker, such as Hikvision, Suprema or Anviz, comes in through the attendance file it exports.
Do we need Zyntra School to use attendance devices?
No. Any company with HR can use them: a staff member's punch lands in their attendance like a check-in. With Zyntra School a student's punch also marks the day, and with Zyntra University a punch in a lecture's room marks that lecture.
How does a device know it is talking to our company?
Each device is registered with its serial number and given a secret, shown only once and kept only as a one-way hash. A device with a wrong secret, an unknown device or an archived one is refused and nothing it sends is kept. A new secret stops the old one at once.
Can a device mark a student absent?
No. A device only marks who punched: present, or late after the school's time. A student who did not punch stays for the teacher to mark, and a teacher's own mark always wins over a punch; where they disagree, the list shows it.
What happens to a punch from an id nobody carries?
It is kept as «not matched», with its punches waiting — never dropped and never guessed. The moment the id is given to its person, the waiting punches are counted.
Does connecting attendance devices cost anything?
No. The connection is built into Zyntra OS at no extra charge and needs no outside account; the devices themselves are bought from their makers or dealers.
