E-invoicing in Jordan and Saudi Arabia: JoFotara and ZATCA

An invoice with its QR code sent to the tax authority and accepted

Both Jordan and Saudi Arabia now run national e-invoicing systems, and an invoice has to reach the tax authority's system in the form it expects. Double Support is an approved e-invoicing provider in both: ZATCA in Saudi Arabia and the National Invoicing System in Jordan. Here is what each one asks, in plain words.

Jordan: the National Invoicing System

Jordan's Income and Sales Tax Department runs the National Invoicing System, under the name JoFotara, for invoices issued in the Kingdom. An invoice is submitted to the system and comes back carrying what the system gives it, so the copy your customer receives is the copy the authority has.

Saudi Arabia: ZATCA

The requirement comes from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), in two phases:

The requirements cover both standard tax invoices and simplified tax invoices. From phase one, each invoice carries a QR code holding its basic details; in phase two, the invoice carries additional information.

Connect the system you have

The easy mistake is to treat e-invoicing as a second screen where someone re-types invoices afterwards. We connect the system you already invoice from to the one your country runs: your accounting or ERP system keeps issuing invoices, each one is submitted as it is issued, and it stays with your records, so the invoice, the customer and the receivable remain one thing.

What that gives you

Or invoice from Zyntra OS

If you are choosing a system rather than connecting one, Zyntra OS has e-invoicing beside its invoices and accounting. Either way, tell us how you invoice today, which system your accounts are in, and which country you invoice in.
