What is OpenEMIS?
OpenEMIS is the education management system Jordan's Ministry of Education adopted as its national data system; a school imports its students into it from a file.
What you gain when you connect it
- The ministry's own columns. First name, last name, gender code (M/F), date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY) and account type (STU) — the fields OpenEMIS asks for when users are imported — then each student by his OpenEMIS ID.
- The check before the file. Every student missing a field the ministry needs is listed by name, with the link that opens his file to fix it.
- Four files from the school's records. Enrolments, leavers, attendance totals and the year's results (approved marks only), for a year, a term and a grade, as Excel or CSV with English or Arabic headers.
- A Jordanian's national number is 10 digits. It is checked when it is typed on the student's file.
- Nothing is sent, every file is kept. The school uploads the file on the ministry's portal itself; Zyntra keeps who made each file, when, and how many students it held. Only who holds «Export» makes one.
