The dental part

Updated in 5.20.58

For a dental clinic: each patient's tooth chart with every tooth's history, a procedure done on a tooth and billed with the visit, x-rays kept on the tooth, the gum chart, and the medical history the patient answers before the visit. It is switched on for one company at a time; a clinic that does not switch it on sees Clinic exactly as before.

Who

A medical record right reads it; Clinic Medical record — Write and close visits writes it.

Switch it on

1
A person with Clinic Settings — Edit opens Clinic › Settings and switches on This is a dental clinic. It is set for the company you are working in. In Zyntra Dental it is always on.
2
Choose how the teeth are numbered: FDI (11 to 48, a child's teeth 51 to 85) or Universal (1 to 32, a child's teeth A to T). The chart is kept the same way either way; this only changes how the numbers are shown.
3
Type the months between check-ups, from 1 to 36 (6 to start with). See Lab orders and recall.
4
Four more lists come into the settings, each with its name in English and Arabic, ready to use and yours to change: the tooth states with their colour (healthy, caries, filling, crown, root canal, missing, implant, bridge, extraction needed, veneer, sealant); the dental procedures, each naming the state it leaves on the tooth; the lab work (crown, bridge, denture, veneer, implant crown, night guard); and the medical history questions the patient answers.

The tooth chart

On the patient's page the Dental card draws the 32 adult teeth and, for a child, the 20 child teeth. Each tooth takes the colour of its latest state, with the surfaces it is on: M, O, D, B and L.

1
Press a tooth. Its history opens: every state it has had, with the surfaces, the note, the day, who wrote it and in which visit.
2
To write a finding, choose the tooth's state, its surfaces and a note. It is written at once, on the visit when you are in one. A row is only ever added: the history is never changed.
A finding cannot be added to a visit that is closed and signed.

A procedure on a tooth

1
In the visit, under Procedures done, choose the procedure from the clinic's list, the tooth and its surfaces, and add it.
2
The line reads like Filling — tooth 36 (MO), and it is billed with the visit and its insurance claim the usual way (see Visits).
3
When the visit is closed and signed, each procedure on a tooth writes the chart: a filling leaves the tooth Filling, an extraction leaves it Missing. An examination, a cleaning, whitening or an orthodontic adjustment leaves the tooth as it was.
A procedure on a tooth is added while the visit is open, and adding a procedure line needs the billing right, as every procedure line does.

X-rays on the tooth

1
On the Dental card add the x-ray file, the tooth or teeth it shows, its kind (periapical, bitewing, panoramic, cephalometric, CBCT, a photo, or other), the day it was taken (today or before) and a note.
2
An image, or a DICOM file of up to 100 MB. A DICOM is kept exactly as it came. It is shown as a picture only when it carries one inside; otherwise it opens as the file, in your imaging program.
X-rays are added by hand. A direct link with an imaging program is not built yet.

The gum chart

1
For each tooth type its six sites (distobuccal, buccal, mesiobuccal, distolingual, lingual, mesiolingual): the pocket depth and the recession in whole millimetres from 0 to 15, and whether it bled. Add the tooth's mobility and furcation, each from 0 to 3.
2
Save the exam with its day. Each exam is kept with its day and doctor and is never changed: the next exam is a new one.
3
Compare two exams: each site shows its depth then and now, and a pocket that got deeper is shown in red.

The medical history, before the visit

The patient's own booking page, the one their booking link opens with no sign-in, asks the clinic's medical history questions under Before your visit.

1
The answers go to the patient's file. A question tied to the allergies or the chronic conditions adds its answer to that field of the file.
2
The doctor reads the latest answers on the Dental card, with the day the patient updated them.
The page shows only the questions, never what the patient's file already holds.

Who sees what

The chart, the plans, the x-rays, the gum chart and the patient's answers are the medical record: only a person with a medical record right for that patient reads them, every read is kept in the audit trail, and the reception never sees them. Prices show only to a person with Clinic Billing — Prices and invoices. Flowrica answers about the chart and the open plans only to who may read that patient's record.
