Figures as of 2026.

Source: Saudi Labour Law, Articles 84 and 85 — the rule Zyntra OS payroll works an end-of-service settlement with.

A year is 365 days of service, the first and the last day both counted, and part of a year counts for its share. A resignation is counted as Article 85 counts it; a case the law treats otherwise is not counted here.

Counted in your browser: nothing you type is sent or kept.

How it is counted

Article 84 of the Labour Law gives half a month's wage for each of the first five years of service and a month's wage for each year after, with part of a year counted for its share, on the last wage: the basic wage and the fixed monthly allowances.

On a resignation, Article 85 keeps nothing under two years of service, a third from two to under five years, two thirds from five to under ten years, and the whole award from ten years.

The service is counted in days, both the first and the last day included, and divided by 365. This is how Zyntra OS payroll works out an end-of-service settlement.

End of service, counted on every payslip

Zyntra OS payroll sets the end-of-service award aside each month and works out the settlement on the day a person leaves, by the law your company chose.

Questions and answers

How is end of service counted in Saudi Arabia?

Half a month's wage for each of the first five years and a month's wage for each year after (Article 84 of the Labour Law), on the last wage.

What do I get if I resign?

Under Article 85: nothing under two years of service, a third of the award from two to under five years, two thirds from five to under ten years, and the whole award from ten years.

Which wage is the award counted on?

The last monthly wage: the basic wage and the fixed monthly allowances.

Does part of a year count?

Yes. The service is counted in days and divided by 365, so part of a year counts for its share.

What if the contract simply ended?

Choose «The employer ended it, or the contract ended»: the whole award of Article 84 is counted.

Is this the amount my employer must pay?

It is an estimate by Articles 84 and 85, not legal advice. Your contract, your records and the labour authorities have the last word.
