Learning platforms for sections

Updated in 5.20.69

The same Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams for Education and Moodle connections the school uses: each university section you pick (course, semester and section) becomes one course or class team, with its teacher and its registered students; the course's components you choose go as assignments, and the grades given there come back into the course's mark sheet as draft marks.

University › Learning platforms — the marks on University › Course marks

Who

Set up the connections: connect, turn on and pick the sections. Sync: Sync now and the syncs. The course's teacher (or who approves its marks) chooses the components from the learning platform.

Nothing is sent until you turn a connection on and pick which sections go. Of each student and teacher, only the name and the university email are sent. Connecting a platform is the same as for the school: see Learning platforms.

Connect and turn on

Open the platform's tab, press its connect button (for Moodle, type its address and token) and tick On: send the picked sections. The card says what is sent.

Pick the university sections

1
Under University sections, tick each section that goes in the Goes column. Choose a Semester to see only its sections. Each row shows the course, the semester, the section's teacher, how many students are registered, and how many have no university email.
2
Press Save the university sections. Tick Only the sections that go to see the ones picked. After a sync, Open takes you to the course on the platform.

Only the section's registered students join. A student on the waiting list never joins; a student who drops the course or withdraws (W) is taken out of the course on the next sync, and one who moves up from the waiting list is added. A new teacher for the section takes the old one's place.

The components that come from the platform

1
The course's teacher opens the section's mark sheet in University › Course marks and presses Set the components.
2
Tick From the learning platform on each component given there (coursework, quizzes …) and press Save. On the next sync it goes to the course as an assignment, out of the component's own mark.

Sync now, and read what it did

Press Sync now. Under Syncs each one says what it did: the courses made, the people added and taken out, the assignments sent and the marks written. Press to look at to read each point by name — a mark the teacher typed is kept, a sheet already submitted takes nothing.

The grades in the mark sheet

A grade given on the platform is the student's mark of that component here, out of the component's own mark, and says where it came from. It is a draft mark: the teacher can change it, saves and submits the sheet as always, and the grade reaches the student's record only when the sheet is approved and released.

University emails

Each student and teacher is added by their university email: the one typed here, else the one Zyntra keeps. Type the university's email domain and press Make the missing emails: every student with none gets their student number at that domain.

A sync never submits, approves or releases marks, and never writes over a mark a person typed.
