Question bank

Updated in 5.20.69

The questions online exams are built from, kept by subject (or by course, at a university): written once, used on many exams, shared with the whole school when they are good.

Who

Who holds «Write questions in the bank» writes questions and reads their own and the shared ones. Who holds «Share questions with the school» reads every question, shares one with everybody, takes it back, and changes the shared ones. Who builds exams reads the bank to choose from it.

Each question shows its kind, its Difficulty, its marks, its tags (the unit or the outcome), whether it is Shared or Yours only, its subject, who wrote it and how many exams use it — then the question itself and its answer. A question written in Arabic is drawn right to left, one in English left to right, on every screen and in the student's exam. Filter by subject, kind, difficulty, tag or Mine / Shared, or type words to find a question.

The question bank

Write a question

1
Press New question. Choose the Subject (at a university, the Course) and the Kind: One right answer, Several right answers, True or false, Short answer, Matching, Ordering or Written answer.
2
Type the question, its Marks, its Difficulty and its Tags, separated by commas — a random draw on an exam picks questions by tag and difficulty.
3
Under The answer: type the choices and mark the right one (or tick every right one); say True or False; type every short answer that counts as right (letter case, spaces and the Arabic letter forms do not matter); type each pair as it is right (the student sees the right-hand side mixed); type the items in their right order (the student sees them mixed); or, for a written answer, a Marking guide for whoever marks it — the student never sees it. Press Save.
A matching question being written

Under a saved question, Add a picture adds a PNG, JPEG or WebP picture (up to 2 MB), shown with the question on the student's exam. Edit changes a question; a paper a student has already sat keeps the question as it was. Put away takes it out of the bank and of every random draw; the exams that chose it keep it.

Import many at once

1
Press Download the template: a CSV file with one example of each kind, in the columns kind, question, choices, answer, marks, difficulty, tags. Choices are separated by «|»; the answer of a choice question is its letter (B, or A, C); a matching pair is written «left = right». The kind and the difficulty may be typed in Arabic too.
2
Fill it in a spreadsheet and save it as CSV or Excel. Press Import from a spreadsheet, choose the Subject, Choose the file and press Import. Every line is checked first: when one is refused, nothing is written and each refused line is named with its number.

Share with the school

A question is its writer's own until it is shared. Who holds «Share questions with the school» sees every teacher's questions and presses Share with the school on a good one: every teacher of the school then reads it and can use it on their exams. Take back returns it to its writer alone. A shared question is changed only by who holds that right.
