Website pages

Every page of the site is one record that holds its English and its Arabic side together. A page is built from blocks, saved as a draft, and shows on the site only when it is published.

Who

Anyone with the Website view right reads the list. Editing needs the edit right, publishing the publish right.

The list

The views across the top narrow the list: All, Published, Draft, Held and Archived, each with its count. Search pages finds a page by name. Each row shows the page, its kind, the languages it is written in, its status and its last change.

A page with an empty Arabic text shows nothing on /ar/; English is never shown in its place.

Make a page

1
Press + New page.
2
Type Name in English and Name in Arabic, then Address in English and Address in Arabic: the address is the last part of the page's link.
3
Choose its Kind: Standard for an ordinary page, Collection hub for the page that lists a collection, Store for a store page.
4
Press Make the page. The page starts as a draft and opens in its editor.

Build the page

Part of the editorWhat you do there
+ Add blockOpens the Block library: every kind of block the site can use, in groups (Page top, Content, Proof, From your collections, Contact, Calls to act, Store), each with a line that says what it is for. A new block is added under the selected one.
The blocksClick a block to open its fields. Drag it by the handle or use the arrows to move it. Hide keeps a block on the page record without showing it.
The fieldsEach text has an English and an Arabic column side by side. A picture is chosen with Choose from Media, Upload a picture or Upload from your phone.
Search and sharingThe page name, address, title and description in each language: what search engines show and what appears when the page is shared.
Live previewThe saved draft in the site's own look: Desktop or Phone, English or Arabic. Refresh draws it again.

Beside a text field, Write with Flowrica asks Flowrica for a first wording. It lands in the field for you to read and change; nothing is published by it.
