Period-end stock

For a company that keeps its stock periodically: at the end of a period the counted stock is brought into the books, and goods received but not yet billed are accrued. Read it first, then post it.

Who

People whose role may see the accounting settings.

Such a company posts nothing as goods come and go, so the books learn about stock only here. If none of your companies keeps its stock periodically, the screen says there is nothing to close.

1
Choose the Company and the Period end.
2
Read what the close would post: Opening stock, Counted stock (first in, first out), Change in stock and Received, not billed.
3
Check the two tables under them. The stock on the day lists each Item with its Quantity and Value. Received, not billed by this day lists each Order or receipt with what was Received, Billed and Accrued.
Period-end stock: what the close would post and the stock on the day
4
Press Post the close. The entries are dated the period end.

Closes lists the closes already posted, each with its entries. Undo the close asks for a reason and reverses each entry the close posted; the close is kept and marked Undone. Only the latest close can be undone.
