Read the cards. Each one has a link that opens the screen or report behind it.
| Card | What it tells you | Its link |
|---|---|---|
| The ledger | Agrees with itself, or a warning when it does not. | Open the trial balance |
| Posted entries | How many journal entries are posted. | Open the journal |
| Drafts waiting | Entries written and not yet posted. | Open the drafts |
| Open periods | Fiscal periods still open. | Open the periods |
| Documents not on the ledger | Invoices, receipts and credit notes that have not reached the books. | Open Transactions |
Under the cards the screen lists what needs a hand, when there is any:
- Refused by the ledger: each document the ledger would not take, with the reason in a sentence, such as a document that belongs to no company. Open Transactions is where you put them right.
- Companies with no chart: companies that keep their own books and have no accounts yet. Open the companies.
- Items whose account is not in a company's books, each with its Income account or Expense account. Open the ledger settings.
Then the money: Owed to you and Owed by you, per currency, each opening its ageing report; Bank, cash and card balances, where each account opens its register; Profit and loss by month with Income, Costs and expenses and Net; Largest expenses; and Budgets, which says whether spending is within each live budget.
